CATEGORIES:
eligible for judging ( sub
heading )
• School or Church Marching Bands
• School or Church Organizations
• Community Service or Organization Programs
• Organized Sporting teams and their related groups
• Businesses
Ineligible for judging ( sub heading )
• All Military Bands and Color Guards
• County, State or any Governmental Body
• Politicians (only those currently in office will be admitted)
• Any Hawaiian Society or Hawaiian Civic Clubs, groups, unless they request
to compete
GUIDELINE AND RULES
1. Unit must demonstrate the theme of the parade.
2. All instrumental bands, groups, marching
or dancing units should be appropriate to the theme of the event
in choice of dress, music
and /or dance.
3. There are no limits (minimums or maximums set) to number
of participants in each unit.
4. Walking units are defined as a group of individuals wishing
to represent their organization (
commercial or non-commercial ).
5. No re-entering the parade route once your group has reached the
end of the parade route.
6. Inappropriate language (swearing, heckling of other participants
in the parade or to any of the observers ) will not
be tolerated and will be cause for immediate disqualification, and
removal
by the
parade marshal.
7. If amplified music is used, it must be at an appropriate sound
level.
8. Minors ( 18 and below ) must have
their parents or guardian sign a waiver prior to any participation.
